Lorena and Ruslan drove from the Venice area to Hillsborough River State Park in Tampa to meet me for their engagement photos in Southwest Florida. They wanted to do a Notebook themed shoot so we rented a canoe and it turned out amazing!

Ruslan and Lorena got engaged on Thanksgiving and quickly reached out to me for their couple photos! They wanted something super unique but timeless and romantic, so I helped them come up with the idea of the canoe ride. We decorated the boat with some babies breath and some white sheets to keep them dry. Lorena and Ruslan are so in love and it’s extremely easy to see in their gallery.

About Photos at Hillsborough River State Park in Tampa

Hillsborough River State Park is a beautiful nature spot with lots to see! Aside from the canoe photos we took some on a bridge and a large staircase. The staff was super helpful and made our visit super easy. To rent a canoe, you must go to parking lot #4 and arrive 2 hours before closing. We rented for a little over $40 for 2 hours. Kayaks are only $25 if you want to go just for fun!

To get to the park, put in Hillsborough River State Park on your gps. This will take you to the front entrance which is $4 a car (depending on how many people). You will be given a map, but make sure to ask where to go for specific areas and they will help you find which parking lot to go to.

I am extremely thankful for my friendship with Lorena and Ruslan and their young romance was incredible to capture in South West Florida!
