Hunter drove from the Englewood area to the island of Boca Grande to meet me for his surprise proposal in Southwest Florida. He asked Shawna at the beach with the water as the backdrop and a beautiful picnic set up, and she said yes!

Hunter’s future sister in law contacted me for some intimate and magical couple photos to capture the exact moment Shawna decided she would spend the rest of her life with her now fiancé. Hunter and I arrived an hour early to set up the blanket, decor, and figure out a game plan for when she arrives! While I helped with some design aspects, Hunter ultimately made all of the final decisions himself and did such a good job. Shawna shed a few tears, happy of course, and she said yes!

About Photos at the Lighthouse in Boca Grande

Boca Grande is one of the most popular photo spots in Southwest Florida, and the huge lighthouse that can be seen from far down the island adds to the popularity! You can either go right up to the lighthouse and shoot with a plain white backdrop, or head to the beach and have the entire structure in the background of your photos. 

To get there, head over the Boca Grande toll ($6 a car) and then continue straight on until you make it to the first intersection downtown where you will turn right onto 5th street west. Immediately turn left onto Gilchrist Avenue and continue straight until you see the lighthouse! There will be a public parking lot on your right directly next to it. You can park here for free and either go to the beach or follow the path up to the lighthouse!
